I chose Gangnam JS Hospital after a knee injury, when I needed a complex surgery to fully restore the function of my knee. This involved not only an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) replacement, but also stem cell treatment to regenerate cartilage in two small areas of my knee that had been damaged during the five months I continued training with a torn ACL (on my Swedish doctor’s advice…😏) And I had a truly excellent experience at this hospital, everything was beyond my expectations. My room was spacious, well-equipped and very comfortable. The food was simply delicious and varied. Their rehabilitation program is very effective. Manual and physical therapy were just two of the five treatments I received every day. As a result, I was almost completely pain-free just two weeks after my surgery… I’m so grateful for all that exceptional care I received from the entire hospital team! They were and still are incredibly attentive and responsive, they stood by my side day and night, providing me with constant support. Even today, I continue to experience very little discomfort, which has made the entire recovery journey significantly easier and more positive. Dr. Koh’s contribution played an important role in making this experience as comfortable as possible. The rehabilitation team was highly professional, dedicated, and supportive throughout my stay. The program was comprehensive, well-structured, and played a central role in my recovery. Every day was focused on helping patients regain strength, mobility, and confidence in their joints. The therapists were knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely committed to achieving the best possible outcome. The treatment and rehabilitation involve considerable costs. However, if this approach can help delay or even avoid the need for an artificial knee joint, I believe the investment can be well worth it. For many active people, preserving their natural joint is invaluable. What I find particularly encouraging is that treatments of this caliber are not reserved exclusively for elite athletes. It is inspiring to see that ordinary people can also gain access to advanced regenerative therapies and rehabilitation programs that, in many countries, are often associated only with professional sports. Knowing that world-class treatment is available beyond the realm of professional athletics gives hope to many patients who wish to remain active and maintain a high quality of life. For now, I remain optimistic, grateful, and hopeful, while recognizing that the ultimate verdict belongs to the months ahead. If the promised and expected outcome becomes reality, this treatment may prove to be one of the best investments I have ever made in my health and future quality of life.
