I just finished a procedure at Hangangsoo Hospital and wanted to share my real experience. During the consultation, the doctor wasn’t perfunctory nor did they blindly go along with whatever I wanted. When I mentioned the procedures I was interested in, they carefully analyzed my facial features and explained which ones would be suitable and which ones were actually unnecessary. Their explanations were easy to understand—no jargon that left me confused. While performing the procedure, the director’s technique was very steady; it was clear they weren’t a beginner. There was thorough communication before each step, with them checking if I felt any discomfort. They also adjusted the treatment as needed based on my tolerance levels. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’m considering coming back.

March 18, 2025. This was one of the worst hospital experiences I've had in Korea. I arrived for a scar revision consultation and was told the wait to see the doctor would be short—possibly within five minutes. I began waiting at 8:40 AM. I sat there as numerous Korean patients were called in, presumably because they had scheduled appointments before me. That was understandable. However, even after the third-floor waiting area had emptied three times, I still wasn't called. After noticing this and checking the time, I decided to leave. I had waited from 8:40 AM until 10:05 AM—a very long wait. No one came to explain the delay. No one offered any explanation; it was just more waiting. In fact, the only person who spoke to me was the male receptionist at the front desk. After that, I went up to the third floor, where no one acknowledged my presence. Everyone seemed indifferent and nonchalant. The staff wasn't busy; they were simply sitting there—between ten and fifteen people across two corners. This hospital is a mess. I strongly recommend avoiding it, as professionalism and Korean hospitality were completely absent. P.S. There were two doctors. One seemed preoccupied, running around and adjusting the doctor's portrait monitor to straighten it. He is the second guy in the photo.

24/11/12, 15 My child hit his chin and was taken by ambulance to Hangangsu Hospital. They treat burns and trauma, and they offer surgery. Considering the plastic surgery aspect, the hospital bills tend to be high. Still, from a patient's perspective, it's fortunate to have a specialized hospital. The parking lot is currently under construction, so it's a bit chaotic, but even on weekdays, there are still a lot of patients. The doctors treat children and adults, and they specialize in a variety of specialties, including surgery, plastic surgery, and pediatrics. There seem to be over 10 doctors. It's a relatively large hospital. (Depending on the condition, daily visits may be required.)

Since plastic surgery is also being considered, the hospital bills tend to be high, but from a patient's perspective, I feel fortunate that a specialized hospital exists. It is a bit chaotic right now due to parking lot expansion work, and as expected, there are a lot of patients even on a weekday. From children to adults, the medical departments are diverse, including general surgery, plastic surgery, and pediatrics, and there seem to be over 10 doctors. It is quite a large facility. I think this is a hospital specializing in burn treatment. I came here for a health checkup.

The doctor and the assistant were incredably rude& cranky. It was a strange experience that the doctor be cynical from the beginning. the consultation was loose less than 2 mins which was $20-ish. He sniffed. I asked which laser on my scar, he goes "a laser~" without looking and it ended there. the coordinator draged me out for the cost (Fraxel $150 per a time) and was so eggy. I don't understand why they are so bilious.

Just going to another hospital is very good for your mental and physical health. The reception process is the worst. On the first floor, you get a waiting number like a bank, wait, receive a reception card, submit the reception card on the third floor, wait again, see a doctor, get a waiting number for the first floor again, wait, and pay in turn. It's strange that the hospital, which is a service industry, is neither a bank nor a government office. One receptionist handles all the work. The examination room is on the third floor, so you wait for the elevator. It's so slow. If you're an emergency patient, it's going to drive you crazy. I recommend just taking the stairs. This is the first time I've seen a hospital that operates a 24-hour emergency room without an emergency room on the first floor. I disinfected my wound in the examination room and returned home. Suddenly, my healthy lip that was sutured started bleeding profusely. I called the hospital again and visited. Received a number on the first floor and waited, took the reception card again, went up the stairs this time, disinfected on the third floor, received a number on the first floor, waited again, and was told to pay an additional treatment fee. They told me to come at the scheduled time the next day. Visit at the scheduled time the next day. The reservation is the same. Received a number on the first floor and waited, took the reception card again, visited the third floor, disinfected again. Disinfection can be done at home. A few days later, I knew that the stitches on my face should be removed after about 5 days. But the doctor told me to visit after 9 days. On the 7th day, my lips felt like they were torn at night. The stitches were already deep into the skin of my lips. When I called the hospital at 10 p.m., the staff's response was almost comical. I'm an administrative staff member and not a doctor, so I don't know. Please come tomorrow. So I told them that my lips were about to tear, and they said they would call me back. But the nurses answered that I had to come to the hospital. Where is the doctor? So I asked again and they changed the doctor. The doctor said that the stitches should usually be removed within 7 days. It was hard to go to the hospital at night, so I just cut the stitches at home.

It would be much better for your mental and physical health to just go to a different hospital. The registration process is the worst. On the first floor, you get a numbered ticket like at a bank, wait, and receive a receipt; then, on the third floor, you submit the receipt and wait again; see the doctor; go back to the first floor to get another numbered ticket and wait; and finally, pay the fees in order. It is truly strange that a hospital, which is supposed to be a service industry, is not a bank or a government office. A single receptionist handles all the tasks. Since the examination room is on the third floor, I wait for the elevator. It is incredibly slow. If you are an emergency patient, you would be going crazy. I recommend just taking the stairs. This is the first time I have encountered a hospital that operates a 24-hour emergency room but does not have an emergency room on the first floor. I had my wound disinfected and treated in the examination room and returned home. Suddenly, my perfectly fine, sutured lip started bleeding profusely. I called the hospital again and visited. I got a number ticket on the first floor and waited, then took my receipt and went up the stairs this time. I went to the third floor for disinfection, got another number ticket on the first floor, waited again, and was told to pay additional treatment fees. They told me to come back the next day at the scheduled time. I visited the next day at the scheduled time. The appointment process was the same. I got a number ticket on the first floor and waited, then went to the third floor with my receipt and disinfected again. The disinfection was mild enough to be done at home. A few days later, I knew that the stitches on my face needed to be removed after about five days. However, the doctor told me to visit after nine days. On the night of the seventh day, I felt like my lip was tearing. The stitches had already dug deep into the skin of my lip. I called the hospital at 10 PM, and the staff member's response was practically a comedy. They said they were an administrative staff member, not a doctor, so they didn't know. They asked me to visit tomorrow. So I told them my lip was in a state of tearing, and they said they would call me back. However, the nurses told me that I needed to come to the hospital. Where is the doctor? So I asked again, and they transferred me to a doctor. The doctor said that the stitches usually need to be removed within 7 days. It was difficult to go to the hospital at night, so I just cut the stitches at home.
